E. W. Wharncliffe reminiscences, [undated].

Reminiscences of Wortley (Earl of Wharncliffe) in journal form, prepared from a diary kept by his companion, Wenman Coke, on a tour of the United States and parts of Canada in 1850. They describe the trip from England to Nova Scotia, then to Boston, Niagara Falls, Albany, Buffalo, Detroit, Chicago, Galena, St. Paul, Pembina, and Fort Garry. After spending two months hunting in Dakota Territory, the men traveled down the Mississippi River to St. Louis and New Orleans, through the southeastern United States to Washington, D.C., and north to New York City.
